There is a bayonet in a store nearby that is supposed to be from the austrian civil war. It looks like a typical bayonet from the american civil war and my internet searches have turned up nothing. Can anyone point me in the right direction or tell me anything about these?
thanks

It may be an Austrian M1854 for the Lorenz rifle. Both rifles and bayonets were imported in quantity during the early part of the US Civil War. The M1854 bayonet is a pretty typical-looking socket bayonet, with a cruciform blade. The mortise is a spiral, rather than the more typical zig-zag found on most socket bayonets.
