The only thing I didn't see mentioned is that some of the wind systems can be used to sell power back to the utility. But you will have a battery bank to supplement the power produced (for a while). I'd expect that you could have it set up so a generator could top off the battery bank if needed for a long duration outage.
But as mentioned above, wind is very location dependant. And I'd want a healthy amount of solar as well.
