Hello all,

Thank you in advance. Basic question...

Which caliber conversion kits (243 wssm, 6.8, 7.62x39, etc) will fit, if any, the 'standard' 223 lower receiver safely?

Thanks!

I've

I've seen a .50 BMG upper. The most rational is the 6.8, then the 7.62 x 39, and if you're a DEA guy with a can, the 9MM.

sorry, not to be pesky, but I presume this to be a yes? I read the links and they don't explicitly give an answer (though they seem to imply: yes!).

So all one needs is the "standard" 223 lower, with the "insert caliber here" upper, +mags?

The 6.8 conversion will DEFINITELY work on a standard lower, it's what I did. You need a 6.8-specific upper/barrel assembly, mags and a bolt. Your existing bolt carrier and charging handle will work fine.
