I think they are of 1953 vintage and one box is made in Tula? All three 40rd box comes with rounds on stripper clips. These are my first surplus ammo 'purchase', well actually I got these for free. I plan to shoot these in my mosin nagant rifle.

That's 7.62x25 ammo for the Tokarev pistol. I used to have some of that along with some Yugoslavian surplus for my Czech CZ 52. I'm not aware of any Mosin rifle that will fire that. The Mosin rifles take the 7.62x54R.

What you have shown is all Czech-made milsurp 7.62x25 pistol/SMG ammo, and as stated above, is not made for your 7.62x54R Mosin-Nagant rifle.

Czech ammo thanks for the information I thought it was soviet made ammo. Also I have a 7.62x25 chamber insert for the 7.62x54r caliber that's what I meant by shooting them in the mosin nagant rifle; .22lr recoil compared to the full 7.62x54r.

With a chamber insert that should be just fine. The bullet diameters should be the same (.310-.312).

wty, have you ever checked the velocity you get with these rounds out of a M91 with your chamber insert? That would be interesting to know just out of curiosity. How is the accuracy with the pistol cartridges?

bxn was the code for Sellier & Bellot. I bought a lot of it when it was cheap. it's been good shooting ammo with the occasional hard primer.

Any idea what kind of gun or magazine can accept the 7.62x25 stripper clips? Also shot some commercial S&B Hollow point 7.62x25 from the insert today; like I said the recoil is non-existent, accuracy wise is left to be desired. Iron sight isn't calibrated for the 7.62x25 for sure(100 m the rounds are hitting way low); using some off target aiming at 100m rounds are hitting the target consistently, but can't do a group because I have to aim above the target so I cant see the target. At 200m I just stopped trying to do aimed shots and simply watch the bullets hit the berm. Bottomline the 7.62x25 out of a mosin nagant rifle can hit man sized targets at 100m and at 200m the rounds are still impacting with lethal force.

They are identical to the strippers for the 1907 Roth-Steyr.

Rather than come up with a new charger design to load their SMG magazines, the Czechs evidently decided to use the existing tooling for these chargers and make their magazine loaders work with them.

About 30 years ago I bought a big bunch of this early 50's Czech 7.62X25 in the same boxes, on the same chargers. My experience with the ammunition is that I would get one or two no-fires out of a box, and occasionally you would need to drop the hammer twice to get some rounds to go off in my Russian TT33.

By the way, When I bought the 7.62X25, I bought a bunch of very similarly constructed and packaged 9X19 ammunition. The big difference in the packaging was the chargers for the 9mm were chrome-plated instead of being parked. Don't ask me why.

The 9mm I bought had about the same fairly minor reliability issues as the 7.62X25.

It may be possible that the stripper clips would fit the Mauser C-96 Broomhandle since the cartridges are the same size but the Mauser load is weaker because the old pistols are not as strong.

The strippers are not identical the the 1907 RS, nor will they fit into a C96. As I think Denny was trying to say, the strippers were made/designed to load the mags for Czech Model 24 and 26 SMGs.

Yes you can, but then you are stuck at only having 8 rounds instead of the full 10 that a C-96 magazine can carry instead. I seen a few German re-enactors at Newville use these strippers in a pinch. Then they top off the C-96 internal magazine with 2 loose rounds. But yes these can work for Broomhandle pistols with no problems.

They don't work all that well in my 1916-built C96, either. About the best use I could find for them with my C96 was to prop the bolt open while I single-loaded the magazine.
