Just received this from century. From what i have read it was a very limited appearance here in the U.S. imported by and named magnum research SP-21. This seems to be an original BARAK (lightning) in 9x19. I cant wait to get to the range with this bad boy. It used standard CZ75 mags. It sure is a ugly pistol but i like it. Anyone shoot one before? Pro's or Con's?

I never thought I'd say this

That gun is hideous!
your kidding....its real?
hope the beauty is in the accuracy!
What's the story, milsurphunter? Is this a one-off from century? Or are they actively importing them?

Google brings posts dating back to 2005 from people buying them in the US but it's the first I hear of this thing, and I know every single gun in existence

(I don't actually)
It was off of century's odd lot list. They had one available. The ones sold here in the US where magnum research SP-21. the IMI Barak where available in Israel and Europe. This must have came in with the odd lots from Israel.
Ain't no uglier than my Keltec PM 30
I'd like one just for the yuks...
and it is uglier than my PMR-30.

I have owned this Israeli Military Industries Barak for about eight years. Bought it to add to my Israeli gun collection along with the Desert Eagle and "Baby Eagle". Chambered in .45 it has a very natural grip smooth SA/DA trigger, and shoots very smoothly and accurately. It may have to do with the heavy barrel and slide and the paired slide springs similar to the Desert Eagle. It is recoil operated, not blowback operated like the DE.
Interesting collector piece; gets some strange looks at the range, but puts the bullet on the target.
Get one if you can.
Makes me want to cross my fingers at it ...

It isn't near as ugly as the abomination called Rhino by Chiappa....whew!
There is the Barack (Model "O")--- it shoots blanks!!!
The lower looks kind of like an FN 5.7. ;)

Hey, I just realized something the ugliest and most aesthetically pleasing polymer framed guns are both made in Middle East. The Barak from Israel and Caracal from United Arab Emirates.
I just shot the .45 version of this pistol. It ate everything i fed it, hollow points, ball, steel and aluminum case. Not one problem. very accurate handgun. Mine is the magnum research SP-21 and does not say Barak on the frame. It says IMI Israeli Military Industries made in Israel. I did a complete tear down of this pistol and it is very well made. This pistol is definitely a modified CZ-75. Well thought out differences. I am waiting for a phone call back from Magnum Research for a manual and maybe some spare parts just in case. If anyone know where I could get a manual and maybe some spare part for this pistol please let me know. This pistol is a keeper for sure.

I want one. I also think the Charter Arms Explorer II is a beautiful piece of weaponry. Also, the Russian Nagant revolver is a viable self defenses arm.
