French 98k rifles in Nam

Citroen: I have seen a lot of them in Vietnam, with two tours of duty there, but I have never seen a pix of troops with them. There were many of them captured and the ARVN had some too, which they were glad to trade for cigarettes....There were also a lot of WW 1 German guns there which I assume were reparations from that conflict and issued to Colonial Troops....

Thanks, I was kind of wondering the same thing since one of my K98ks is a 'French Rework.'
