In trying to learn of the various stamps & markings, the more I learn, the less I know.

This stamp appears to be a circle or slight oval with a backwards BL, when flipped to another perspective is ГВ.

Is this a civil guard stamp or something else?

Is the meaning known?

Thanks!

Cyrillic GV is some kind of Soviet government stamp. You can find stocks or handguards with GV followed by a bunch of numbers, presumably part numbers.
