I have an Hopkins & Allen single barrel that I am researching. I have fired it (using black powder shells) and it performs excellently for a century old firearm.
All I know was that Hopkins & Allen made this type of shotgun for many suppliers (cheap department store shotgun) in the period 1898-1915. There are no other marks, so I am operating under the assumption that this was not made for smokeless powder. The barrel is not braided nor damascus.
