I've posted about this Austrian rifle's unit mark on several Gunboards forums so far, but no luck. The rifle is unit marked to "Lst B 91", which I believe is the Austrian Landsturm Battalion Nr. 91. (Also abbreviated as LstIBaon 91.) Does anyone have any information on this unit?

Thanks in advance for any help.

John,
Wow, that is an extraordinarily rare rifle here in the US...Congrats! The rifle itself is rare, but the Austro-Hungarian unit markings make it that much better! I'll look into the 91st when I get back to Sacramento next week. Again, amazing find!!!

Andy and John,
Many thanks for your offers of help. I gratefully accept! I see that there were 519 numbered Austrian Landsturm battalions. ("Handbook of the Austro-Hungarian Army in War, June 1918") Unfortunately, there is no historial information on units of this level. Vol. II of this work has an index of Austrian Landsturm battalions, and Nr. 91 is listed on page 166, but it has a question mark next to the "91" and no other information. This is where my infomation ends.
Regards,
John

I know it's not germane to the discussion but on page 98 of my Mannlicher book and page 140 of my Gewehr 88 book there are photos of Austrian Landwehr and Landesschutzen armed with M.14 Mausers.
