You ever notice that WWII Deutsche Fallshirmjager don't jump out of airplanes, they dive out.

Personally, I wouldn't trade my Yugo captured 98 for that one.

I would like to have a sight hood , and cleaning rod for her though.

The last 3 pictures of the linked auction explain why that rifle brought 800. Yours all look run of the mill wartime examples.
Milsurp,

I highly doubt the two (more money than Brains) bidders who were bidding up the rifle had a Kriges Rifle sitting around waiting for some bands, but I guess we will never know. That's allot of money to spend for some bands however if it were me needing those Kriges bands I would swap in others and just re-sell that rifle.

No way would I ever pay $800.00 for it, bore looks frosted/ pitted up receiver to boot.

Bands? The stock is what they were after. I suspect we could see this stock paired with a bringback action. Of course the russian serial number will be steamed out and finish blended in.

I take it the Weimar eagles are the "Luftwaffe" markings. That's great to know. I have an S/147 1938 in significantly better shape than this, so I ought to be able to get $1400 for it, especially since I now know that it "jumped out of bombers" subsequent to terrorizing the local populace!

This is all kinds of awesome.

If someone is willing to spend that kind of money on a beat up late war stock and band God bless them.

Yep. Get used to it. Numrich aint selling KM stocks and the market is expanding everyday thanks to a certain set of books.

And I thought I overpaid for this one at $500 with a DM stock cut for the ZF41..Only bought it at the time because some very vocal people on this board were so sure these rifles had no legitimate collectors value and were all flaky POS that should be stripped of parts, refinished and turned into representative peices to fill slots in a collection that could not be found or afforded..or both

I noticed an RC on the trader last week that had been stripped and refinished..no mention of it of course in the descrip..Wonder why? hmmm...
