Please Contact the Senate Law and Public Safety Committee Today!

On Monday December 8 the New Jersey Senate Law and Public Safety Committee will vote on S1774.

S1774 would prohibit law-abiding citizens who have already undergone an extensive background check from purchasing more than one handgun within a 30-day period. This legislation would do little to impact crime because criminals do not purchase firearms from dealers and they do not submit to background investigations. S1774 treats law-abiding citizens like criminals simply for exercising their Constitutional right to own, purchase or sell firearms.

Please contact the members of the Law and Public Safety Committee TODAY and respectfully urge them to oppose S1774. Contact information can be found below.

State Senator John Girgenti (D-35)

State Senator Brian Stack (D-33)
(201) 861-5091

State Senator Anthony Bucco (R-25)

State Senator Christopher Connors (R-9)

State Senator Nicholas Sacco (D-32)

Once one has his personal defense weapons, what problem does a one gun a month create? If you're a licensed dealer, there is no problem. I don't understand why people waste their time on this. There are more pressing gun laws to look at. California has had that limit on handguns for a while, and it has not changed things. Everyone has his PD weapons now here in CA, and we've adapted to the one hand gun per month thing. No limit on rifles in CA, btw.

Why be forced to "adapt" when you can prevent the law from being passed? EVERY stupid gun law should be opposed with the same vigor. Its way past time to stop accepting the "death by a thousand cuts" of the Second Amendment. I say fight them all, each and every one...NO COMPROMISES!

There is absolutely no good reason a law-abiding American citizen should have to pass up buying a gun this week just because he bought a gun last week. Period. Plus, once they start limiting WHEN you buy a gun, they can start on limiting HOW, WHY, WHERE, etc.

Would you support a law that said you could only write a blog or a letter to the editor once a month? How about only being allowed to attend church or take part in a prayer meeting only once a month?

A restriction on the 2nd is just as bad as a restriction on the 1st or any other.

Anti-gun politicians are going to use the pending obama administration to further their cause. I suspect when they make new legislation to restrict our rights the laws will prove to be unconstitutional and shot down as in the Heller case. The real fight for our rights as gun owners has just begun.

and i fear if it ever ends it will not be in our favor. i think the best we can do is hold off the antis as long as we can. i doubt if my grandson will be able to buy guns as a middle aged man. if fear the only thing that will save us is some currently unforeseen event that we haven't counted on or hoped for.

In addition to it being a civil rights violation, it is also a good example of the "Let's Pretend" School of Government. Let's pretend We're Getting Tough on Crime by passing laws that only affect the law abiding.
I also note this is typical of Jersey politics, pass important legislation at holiday time so while everyone is getting ready for the holidays the politicians are doing things behind our backs and presenting us with a fait accompli.

Heller hasn't stopped them at all. Supreme Court or no; they continue to draft and try to enact more stupid laws that won't affect criminals one damned bit. What good are gun laws, if these bastards refuse to even enforce them?

Sanctuary cities will not be abolished.
They will do nothing about CORRUPT liberal cities and their police chiefs. ICE will not be called; when an ILLEGAL alien criminal is arrested for having an ILLEGAL gun on the crime infested streets of New Jersey or anywhere else.

The Brady Bunch is supporting radical politicians, who won't enforce a FEDERAL
gun control on the books since a Palestinisan terrorist namred Sirhan Bishara Sirhan blew Robert F Kennedy's brains out on national TV in 1968.

While you're at it, Google up the website, which has a state by state listing of these crime infested sanctuary cities. Then give your state legislature some HELL

Wake Up AMERIKA...

This is a bit off topic - well, actually, it's on topic for a RKBA forum - does anyone know what happens in kali where I live if someone wants to do a private party transfer of multiple handguns to someone else - like if they kick it and will the handguns to someone or just get too old to use them, have no family that's interested and want them going to a friend? Does the individual or the estate have to transfer them over a period of months or years?

Everything is supposed to go through a federally licensed gun dealer since 1992. It might cost you $20 bucks to do the paperwork. They aren't required to provide this service. There are no "fee limits" placed upon gun dealers, like the Federal Communication Commission does with private groups, who provide much of the testing for theirs various classes of radio and TV licenses

If you can't find one then you are screwed. In that case, some people have no choice but to sell their used guns in violation of the law.

A big talk station in Fresno has a Saturday morning program called "Radio-Tradio". Several guys (and sometimes women) call every weekend offering to sell their firearms to the public. They rarely mention the "licensed transfer dealer" requirements. Anybody can advertise his old guns on the Craigslist website which is based in the "gun free zone" called San Francisco...
