Hello everyone, new member to the board here. I've had a 1907 M96 for a few years now that I convinced myself I "needed" after shooting a friend's Husqvarna M38 (he calls it his lawnmower gun due to the manufacturer :p ).
I noticed on mine that there is a stamp on the back half of the right side of the receiver that says "v--ALBANO--v". I can't seem to find anything relating Swedish Mausers to Albano, other than there being a former industrial district in Stockholm named Albano. Does anyone else have this stamp on their gun? Is it a manufacturer or importer mark, or is it (as I suspect) probably just an emblem of a previous civilian owner?
Thanks!

Sounds similar to " Century Arms , St. Albans , Vermont ????????? Their import mark is usually abbreviated " CAI , St Alb VT " .
