A long while ago, I remember seeing an old mathematical formula for working out the desired rifling twist, given barrel length, bullet weight, velocity and calibre.

I know that within this forum someone will have it.

Any chance of a copy or a link?

Peter, there was a very good article in the "Basic Ballistics" column in the Australian Shooter a while back. (possibly a few years, I'm always re-reading them) It describes the Greenhill formula and explains the limitations of it. If you get stuck I'll try to find it again.
