I was at a Gander Mnt last week and was looking at their now substantial M-44 collection. I ran accross a nice one that had 98 above the date stamp. I thought I ran accross what that meant somewhere, but can someone refresh my memory? I looked for drillholes, but couldn't find any. Actually, none of the M-44's were snipers, were they?

They wanted $145 for it, thought that was a little pricy.
