I found that it was a litle out of spec compared to NATO produced ball. In comparing .308 Chinese with LC, FNM, and West German ball I noticed the extractor rims of the Chinese cases were a little thinner. Also the cases being copper washed steel didn't seem to have the same lubricity of brass cases. This was not discernable in rifles with a chrome plated chamber (M1A, Hk-91)-they all shot the Chinese steel cased fine. However when I replaced a barrel that had a chrome plated chamber on an original AR-10 (I had finally shot it out) with a plain steel barrel there was somewhat of a hesitation in extraction as though the cases were gripping the chamber slightly. It was a little annoying at times but hey, the stuff was $89.00 for a 500 round case. If your M1A has a chrome plated chamber you should have no problems.

Thanks guys for the input, I have several 560 round cases. The 20 round boxes are black and white with diagonal red stripes, says 308 win berdan primed steel case lead core
non-corrosive.
I have heard that Springfield Armory says NOT to shoot this "crap" ammo, will this hurt/damage my Rifle in any way ???, Thanks Much
p.s. my info tag that came with my new M1A says headspace 34, what the heck does that mean ???

Norinco .308 ball is decent ammo.I saw 2 Chinese M-14 rifles in a shop yesterday, marked 'outdoor arms' at the rear of receiver. The person behind the counter said they had sold about 50 and those were the last 2 they had, think I will buy one as they looked prety nice for the modest asking price.

Be reallllll careful about trusting the "non-corrosive" labeling on Norinco ammo. It might be...then again, it might not.

I suspect the "headspace 34" label means that when factory new, your rifle headspaced at 1.634".
