I think this is in the wrong place but I will ask anyway.
I am looking for load data for the 8x56r cartridge utilizing IMR powders since that is what I have.
I will take any load data I can get as none of the books I have even cover this cartridge.
I am also interested in data for cast bullets for this cartridge.
Thanks in advance!

Using the Hornady 205 grain jacketed bullet, I have had very good accuracy results with 48.0 grains of IMR 4064 & standard primers. The load averaged 2437 fps from a long rifle and about 100 fps less from an M.95.30 Both my test Steyrs had a .330 bore.

Two caveats: 1) This load is near max - work up to it carefully! 2) It should come as no surprise that it recoils sharply in the shorter arms.

All the standard caveats and disclaimers apply here - your mileage may vary - etc & so forth. SW

If you have not bought dies yet, the Lee die set comes with data. For cast bullets, I have had good results with the Lee 205 without check, Lee lube, over 8 Gr. Herco.

8x56r

Here is a link to a good company who has all the reloading items you will need for the 8x56r round: www.buffaloarms.com

They are on the West Coast, but ship fast and their prices are very resonable. I am waiting for my reloading stuff for the 8x50r to arrive next Tuesday.

I have two loads that work for me. 46.2 Gr IMR4064 with the 205 Hornady and 47 Gr 4064 with the 175 Buffalo. 205's chronied at 2275 and 175's chronies near 2400'/sec as I recall.
Regards, Rick.
