Hard to say what is safe in your rifle without seeing it and handling it.
How did you check the head space?
I have three original 7mm Rolling blocks and each one is different.
The one that looks the most correct is actually the least correct.
Bubba took a drill to the chamber back in the 50's or 60's when sporterizing Rolling Blocks was a topic in every other issue of "The American Rifleman".
This particular Rollingblock could chamber 7mm Magnum, but I would never shoot it that way.
I suspect it was never shot by the individual who did the bad work regardless.
I purchased that rifle at an online auction.
I had to remove the barrel and cut it down and re-chamber it.
The other 7mm rollingblocks that I have will not chamber modern 7mm ammo because the chambers are too short.
I love rolling blocks, but to be safe; you always need to cast the chamber.
If you want a plinker that is less labor intensive, send me a PM and tell me what you are looking for.
I may have the trading stock you are looking for.
