Well I finally got a chance to try out my insert in the M-44 and didn't have much trouble at all knocking the empties out. I guess after a lot of rounds it would get more difficult with the build up of gunk. Over all I'm pleased and would do it again. The insert came with a block of wood drilled out to help getting the empties out, but I think I'm going to make my own out of something else, maybe aluminum or something.

The extraction problem is actually due to the high pressure of the x25 round. It causes the insert to flare out in the middle if used in a loose chamber. When fired the x25 case then expands and locks into the insert.

The .32 insert is thicker since its a straight walled round, and the cartridge produces lower pressure as well. Those work very well.
