What did the AC on the headstamp indicate? I understand these were test rounds from pre 1941 ? for the TSMG

Typical Winchester headstamp from this period....A C stands for Automatic Colt........

.45 AC

I have one box of Winchester cartridges marked:

".45 Auto.Colt"
"For Thompson Sub-Machinegun"
