Thanks for the information, and correcting me on the difference, re: blanks vs. grenade cartridge. Now I appreciate the difference, kind of like clip vs. magazine.
If I remember, the crimp seemed to be a six or eight pointed fold. And I don't recall the indented "neck" area shown in your photo.
A man had the bow displayed with a mix of other old milsurp items, but said he wasn't sure of the origin. I asked here on the forum, in case it was an uncommon survivor of WW2. The bow was dated July 1944.
