Below is computer-generated (Load From A Disk I) data from J&D Components, Orem UT from whom I got my sabots and the seating tool.

.30-30 Win - 55-gr bullet - seating depth 0.25" - COL 2.5"
Powder Type - IMR-4198 / RX7 (Reloder 7) / S-4197 (Scot 4197)
Charge wt. gr. - Velocity fps - Pressure psi
30.2 - 3300 - 35500
32.2 - 3500 - 40300
34.3 - 3700 - 45700 - High pressure, reference only
36.3 - 3900 - 51200 - High pressure, reference only
38.3 - 4200 - 57000 - High pressure, reference only
40.3 - 4400 - 63100 - High pressure, reference only

"For starting loads reduce calculated powder charge by at least 10%."

I tried 55-gr JSP's and Reloder 7 charges of 27.0, 29.0, 30.0 and 31.0 grains with the 0.25" seating depth and a COL of 2.586" and got 3 to 3.5" groups at 50 yards from a 4X -scoped .30-30 Savage 340. Large amounts of unburned powder were left in the bore and at least two sabots failed to separate from the bullets.

I also tried some genuine Remington Accelerator sabot bullets with AA2700 charges of 29.0 to 33.0 grains in one-grain increments. Best groups were 4" at 100 yards with 32.0 and 33.0 grains from the same rifle. This is coyote/wild dog-level accuracy at best.

.308 Win - 55-gr bullet - seating depth 0.225" - COL 2.5"
Powder Type - IMR-4198 / RX7 (Reloder 7) / S-4197 (Scot 4197)
Charge wt. gr. - Velocity fps - Pressure psi
38.8 - 3600 - 34200
41.4 - 3800 - 38900
44.0 - 4000 - 43900
46.6 - 4300 - 49300 - High pressure, reference only
49.2 - 4500 - 54900 - High pressure, reference only
51.8 - 4800 - 60900 - High pressure, reference only

E Arthur Brown Company (eabco.com)

Thay have the Sabots, data for just about anything (at some point you start "infering" using 30-calibre cases with "same/similar case volume as cartrige X")

I do actually reccomend the insertion die for seating the bullets in the sabots and I reccomend the Lee Universal Flaring Die also, just makes insertion so much easier.

I have had good luck with Speer 52gr JHP varmit bullets as well as 50gr Hornady V-Max boattails. I THINK my best charge was about 42gr of Vhit. N-110, but would have to look to confirm (downstairs). 3980 fps according to Chrony.

I get well under 1MOA (about .6/.7) out of my .308 BAR but they will not cycle the action reliably.

Hoping to make a Prarie Dog whacking this summer. ;)

Oh, BTW, any MORE powder in my load is not dangerous, it just throws bullets all over the place, like FEET off-line, they do not separate cleanly and keyhole at very high velocity, at least, out of my rifle. Probably over-powering the sabot untill it "skids".
