As Leon states, a .310 lead core bullet will compress going thru a .3085 groove diameter rifle. 148 grain bullets are fine.
However, is your rifle "D" throated, which reams the throat for longer bullets such as 182 grains and up? If the longer and heavier bullet is jammed into the rifling upon loading in a non-D throat dangerous pressures may result.
Been there, done that, with an M28 that had the original short throat; it blew out the primers.... messy clean up with soot all thru the action. This was with Yugo surplus 182 grain...
