mine has seen a lot of rounds (tens of thousands over decades) and will fire absolutely anything. Of the cheap ammo, it makes very good groups with the bulk pack blazer ammo (black lead head light wax variety). Better still, standard velocity CCI leadhead type. Better still and we start talking about the expensive stuff and TBH at the prices, I have not tested enough brands of it to say 100%.

Thank you for the reply

Gander Mountain has the Remington golden value pack for 16.00 after a 4.00 mail in rebate. I never tried it, but a friend says his S&W 22a didn't like it.
I am interested in hearing more from others what brand the Ruger MK II likes.

i won't buy remington 22's, unless i can sell them for a profit.:) i like federal and cci.
the remington ammo that is 1) gold painted (you can tell because the gold paint will rub off on YOU as you handle the ammo) and 2) sold in a bulk pack is the worst ammo on the marke IMHO. It has at least a 2% misfire (in a box of 500, thats 10 rounds or so) if not higher and that gold paint flecks off all inside your gun (yucky mess). It is not terribly accurate. I have a box poked away in my emergency use only stash because I do not want to shoot it for anything else....

the federal bulk pack is not bad accurate, about 0.5 inches worse than the blazer in MY mark 2 (25 yards). It could very well shoot better in YOUR Mark 2. The federal functions better in my wifes high accuracy built 10-22 which is picky and mangles the soft lead heads. Better stilll the 22 AR designed CCI (it is labeled this way... designed for 22 ar guns) that comes in a box of about 350 (?) is very sweet stuff (in a pistol as well). The cci AR stuff would be my go-to if your gun wants jacketed ammo.

Heh, I appreciate the concern. Its not all I have in .22, its just in there with the rest. I have enough various calibers that the .22 would just be used for small game, not defense or anything critical. Or, there is always another squirrel if it fails to fire, in other words. 10-20 out of 500 is terrible, but, that is still over 450 tree rats or whatever for the skillit.
