I have 2 Spanish old copies of S&W's

one is in 44 Russian

the other is in 455 Webley

both are extremely well build

the only mark on the 44 Russian are these

these are some of the marks on the 445 also there are marks all over it to small for me to take a pix right now the mark is a crown with a V under it

I will try and take a better pix of the top of the barrel later

I also have a two Belgian copies of top break S&W revolvers made in about the same time period , I think the Spanish where built a lot better , tighter and stronger

44 S&W will not fit ,you can shoot a 44 Russian in a 44 S&W special but not the reverse

did think about reaming the chamber's of the cylinder to 44 S&W special it only proximately .176 off

this is the cartridge you were talking about, can't see any reason you couldn't shoot it , its shorter then the Russian

I have a collection of the american riflemans that go back to 1976 I think , don't remember seeing the article I have to look again

found the article its on P 88 of march American Rifleman from 2008, the DEC. issue of all American Rifleman's have an index of the previous year

not this Spanish made gun
