I saw my first 1941 side mount PEM sniper recently. Not mine.

I think these may be expediency rifles made in 1942 on existing guns.

Not a PEM

The hole does not seem to be in the correct place for a PEM side mount. Pic is of a Tula 1940 PEM, rear screw hole. The hole shown on the rifle in question is about where the rear pin hole would be, on a PEM side mount.

Looks to be the pin location vs the screw shank. Dunno. Wil try for more pics.

Well. if I recall correctly, there was another member here that owned a '41 ex-siderail PEM that had the mounting holes set back further on the reciever, like the rifle shown. Perhaps they will chime in...
