Came across this one on Friday. Just a few pics. Everything matches. Early walnut stock with flat buttplate. Stock numbered on wrist as well as buttplate. Right side of butt has Heeres H stamp and two waffenamts underneath that. Overall very good condition. Not a closet queen but honest wear that matches throughout the gun. Has flip-up muzzle cap and nice bore.

What is the value of a rifle like this (assuming I am correct that everything is as it should be)? Is $2400 too much?

Thanks dj

Any chance of a full side view?
An "early walnut" would be a "S/42/K"- marked 1934, & as this '38 is squarely into the era of the early laminates - an early walnut specimen she definitely ain't.
Re metal finish: It's either glare that I'm seeing, or some fairly thinning/toning blue & moderate patina.

Early Obys seem to attract the newbies/saps w/ fat wallets, skinny craniums & FaceBarf addictions, so sure ........ it should easily fetch that figure. Sharp collectors would appreciate some more & better pics, however.

I see a bolt and a receiver, which is a couple of hundred dollars on today’s market. Unless we see pics of a gun, I wouldn’t consider quoting gun prices.

“Everything matches” means nothing on a gun like this.
