I stopped in a local pawn shop today where I found this matching '37 date K98 bayonet by the firm of Gebruder Heller. It's not in bad shape for being 75 years old. Here are some pics.

Len that is a great bayo. I would hardly say the condition is "not bad", id say its in very nice condition. Even though i only do 44 dates, I really like the bluing on those early ones.

Hi Big,
Thanks for your comment. Since the original post I took the grips off and discovered that they and the flashguard are #'d to the bayonet. This wasn't standard procedure if I remember correctly (it's been a long time since I've taken a pre-war bayonet apart.).
