I was bidding on this one all week but didn't feel comfortable above the $250 mark. The seller claims that it has no Finn markings, so I was thinking Balkan; but he also says the bolt is force matched. I wasn't aware that the Balkan rifles even bothered to force match? Any thoughts on this?

I thru a bid in too. It just went off for $315. If the butt stock comb hadn't been cut down alittle, I might have hung till $300. I too, think it was a Balkan. I hope a forum member got it and runs some pics. I'll bet that rifle saw more service than many...for several countries.

It's good to trust your instincts on this one. The seller has had some questionable Mosins in the past, and this one seems like a somewhat typical Balkan. Low number 1916 is interesting, but not $315 interesting.
