Here are the photos of my all matching GEW DWM 98 and bayonet with a blued receiver and a roller coaster sight, strange. The bore is absolutely pristine. Photos to follow.

At a guess, there must have been some G98 rifles which were reworked and had the receiver blued before they started replacing the Lange sight with the 1934 and 1935 (K&G) tangent sights.

Would the collector term then be G98m instead of G98M?

No it is not or import marked or duffle cut. When I first got it 35 years ago the rifle was covered in dried grease. I guess I didn't get all the dried grease out behind the lower band. I have another Sauer and Sohn that was also covered in dried grease that I got at the same time from the same estate whose receiver is still in the white but the front band and bolt release is not matching and not quite as nice. I haven't looked at them since I put them in the gun racks when we moved into this house 13 years ago.
