Bought this one on GB. Just got it home yesterday PM. I always distrust the claims of Matching Numbers by a seller.
Started checking it over and disassembled it. It was easy compared to my Oberndorf. The stock did match.
Bore is really bright and shiny with deep grooving. The seller was selling it for a friend it seems. Could not get any more
pics from him. But, at the last 17 minutes, the price looked awfully good for what I thought it may be. Just took the
chance and got pretty lucky I think. But, I used my research here and at House of Karlina long before I bid.
Otherwise, I would not have bid with out more pics of it.

Stevan, nice pictures!!! Like the bluing of the metal parts.
The bluing/finish was really a surprise. It appears from the lint in the bore that this one has been sitting in a safe or storage for a lot of years.
It is a CAI import. Part of some ones small collection of them. I was told this is probably the best one. It is it seems that it was just put into
his collection and not fired by him. I ran a dry patch or two through it and only got a little lint and a trace of old oil on the patch. Ran a wet
patch of Hoppes #9 through and let sit for awhile. Virtually nothing. Then, a patch with PB Blaster and left over night. No gunk! Justthe PB
on the dry patch. Wonder when CAI rifles were being sold from them and their Dealers.

Century Arms was selling Swedish Mausers from the time Reagan lifted the ban on military surplus firearms in 1986 until SAMCO got the last lot of surplus military rifles from the Swedish government around 1996 . It seems the latest Swedish mausers were imported by SARCO , KEBCO , Simpson's , etc.

Century Arms probably sold some before the Gun Control Act of 1968 ? No way to know for sure without import marks . I have a few M96's without import marks .

Nice rifle. Is that a crack in the stock behind the tang on top? If so, you had better relieve the tang area a bit with a bit of sandpaper wrapped around a wood dowel and a bit of repair with accuglass so it does not split more.

It appears a chip has come out at one time and has been put back in place to repair it. Glued some how I would guess. There is a tiny bit of clearance between the tang and the wood where the chip is back in place. May have been sanded with a dowel already. But this appears done many years ago.
It appears a very shallow surface chip.
