1903Springfield Elevation Sight Knob Questions

I need to replace the elevation sight knob on my 1903 Springfield. I found a dished knob on the market but it does not have the spring. My question to you all is this:

When I remove the elevation knob that is on the rifle now, can I used the spring from that and put it on the dished elevation knob?

Thanks for you help!

the binding knob has no spring, the windage knob has a spring, but not ment to be removed.
on the 1905 rear sight, it had a detent and spring on the other side of the binding knob, that matched with the checkered edge of the sight ladder, binding knob for that sight would be very small.,
the 1905 sight is very rare, and doubtfull that you have that sight.
