Best thing you can do is post a photograph of the bolt in question. Fake A4 bolts are kind of like porn - hard to describe but you know them when you see them.

However:

A square safety lug is a dead giveaway = Fake

A sharp corner at the knuckle where the handle turns down = Fake

The handle just looks too long = Fake

The handle dimensions are "off" = Fake

Originals will have an "R" (Remington) stamped on the bottom of the bolt handle root and usually a punch mark. (Note all the Remington spare parts bolts may have this stamp as well)

Originals will be black oxide finished. Correct rebuilt bolts may be gray parkerized

Thanks for chiming in Jim. I wanted to say the same thing, post pictures, but also wanted to post some pictures of original bolts. I could not find any and no time now to get some good ones so I did not post.

No substitute for good pictures. Some of the fakes are getting pretty close and some will have the R on the bolt root.

Heck, looking at what he did to that receiver, you aren't being careful enough. The COUNTY he is in is to be avoided!
LOL. He owned a gunshop to boot.

Never get tired of looking at those pics. The molten brass just blows my mind!
