Hello all, I usually hang out on the Swede Mauser board, but before I got into swedes I was an 03 fan. I have what I believe could be an 03A3 national match rifle. It is briefly described in Brophy's book on the 1903 Springfield, but I have not been able to dig up much info anywhere else.
Without the paperwork from the last arsenal (supposedly Raritan Depot in NJ) it is just another 03A3. The rifle has certain attributes that are peculiar to those models, and the fit and finish of the parts do not appear to be a bubba job. Any help would be appreciated, especially some pictures other than the few that are in Brophy. Hopefully the pictures I have will work. Thanks, Jim McGuinness

I have no idea if that is a 'real' NM or not, but I have seen several done in a similar way, usually by high power shooters back in the 60's
they did not use the redfield set forward that far, and one (IIRC) had a globe front added

I have a nice O3 a Dr set up in the mid 60's, with a sight mount that mounts on the top bridge, and a big globe on the front,
it was not done by any armory, he had a gunsmith set it up for him,
shoots very well

agree, belive its a standard A3 that someone other then the military added the sight, and SHT bolt...the real ones iv seen have a NS bolt, Palma rear sight, C stock, and a milled trigger guard as well.
iv seen and held 2 genuine NM A3,s one is still in a private collection, and is new in the box, owned by an ex Remington Arms manager.
the other was at a gunshow a few years ago, it was one of the i should have picked that one up guns..
