I have always wanted a commission rifle, but until now had not found one I really liked. Even though this one has some of the later "improvements" it still "spoke to me". The bore is in remarkably good shape too.

Very nice. Neither of mine has wood that nice and undinged.

Be warned when you shoot it, it may be horrendously accurate. One of mine will put five in a palm-spread at a hundred-fifty yards, so long as I'm consistent with my several-foot hold-under.

Be sure to slug the bore. The "S" on the receiver does not mean that the bore is .323. Mine is an 1889 Erfurt with the "S" on the receiver. My barrel slugs .315 for lands and .318 for grooves.
