I ran across this shotgun at a gunshow on Sunday and would like to know if anyone know something about these type of shotguns.

There were two at the show, both from different sellers. This is the better of the two before a gentle cleaning after i brought it home.

After a bit of elbow grease she cleaned up pretty good. Does anybody know Anything about these? Also is there a way to bring back the pattern on the barrel?

Some info on American Arms Co. The SxS doubles they made are quite sought after by some collectors of early American made doubles and are of fine quality. The Single shot you have looks to be of nice quality also. Not your standard run-of-the-mill single shot shotgun. Excellent grade wood, unique mechanism, etc. The damascus barrel finish can be redone and there are several people doing that as a specialty refinishing type of work now on double guns. The work on a set of double barrels usually runs around $250/$300, so I would assume a single barrel would be less. I would suggest you post these pics over on here:

and let the crew there look the pics over. There are alot of collectors & gunsmith types there with a wealth of knowledge on these older shotguns and I'm sure someone will be able to pinpoint the guns history for you.
