I was looking at a 1871 11mm mauser last night and it has a large EN stamped on the stock and top of the bbl chamber area. Any idea as to what country it stands for?
Thanks

Typically found on Argentine Remington Rolling Blocks, indicating "Ejercito Nacional" or National Army.

"E.N." is struck into the top barrel flat, between the receiver and rear sight on the Remingtons.
Argentina used a mixture of arms, including some 1871 Mausers before adopting the Remington.

From what I have been told these are Argentine dating back to the pre-1879 Rolling Block era. Gunboards member Marysdad is the one who seemed to know the most about these back when I posted asking about mine long ago.
