Well, heres the results of the hornady 160gr round nose flat base bullets I tried.

Best group was with 38.3gr of H4831. Neck sized brass (lee collet neck die) and lee factory crimp die. This is a 5 shot group. Oh yea, its a 1902 dated CG M96.

Are these with the open V-notch sights? Thats very impressive.

What is the overall length your running on that load? Post all specs on that handload please!! I am starting load development for my CG96's toaday and testing tommarrow. Getting a head start on a good load always helps, not to say it will shoot the same for me, but maybe I will get lucky!

Good SHooting.

Dont know what the total length was, but I seated them to the canalure and crimped in place. I dont have any more (shot them all up) so I cant get you any measurements.

This was the starting load in the hornady book I have, and it didnt do any better at the higher powder charges.

I had a little help from a scope, but it is installed with a no drill no tap mount, and I can put it back to original no problems.
