Hello Gents,

As posted in several threads by our fellow members, I logged in on "The Atlantic Wire" and performed a search using "WWI." There are numerous installments of their amazing 10 part Photo Series of the Great War. Here is the link to the results of the search.

The photos in this series are truly amazing and include many rare photos that I've never seen before. I highly recommend browsing through each of the presentations. Here are links to several of these presentations. There are more to follow as the WWI Centennial gets underway.

With the 100th Anniversary of WWI a few months away, these photo series are a poignant remembrance of those who fought, died, were wounded or serious disfigured, both physically and mentally during the "War to end all Wars.".

Warmest regards,

JPS

Hello Gents,

Here's another series of Great War photos that have just become available through a Yahoo link.

http://news.yahoo.com/photos/wwi-uns...ont-slideshow/

As the Centennial nears, there will be more and more articles, photos and documentaries online and on TV. The "War to end all Wars" sobriquet continues to serve as a sad reminder that such idealistic goals rarely mimic reality.

More photo exposes to follow in the near future.

Always a pleasure Ol'Duke! ;>)

Warmest regards,

JPS

There is something I do not understand. I know that the perception of animals was somewhat different one century ago. I had this dad that didn't give much about the well being of our dog we brothers loved. Once again it was my mother that tried to explain ... your father saw dogs eating from his friends in nomansland. Can we blame the dogs? Not in my book. I can't discuss about this anymore with the one that gave me excellent lessons in my teens. But, let's be honest, the most fiercest iron monger can be made to answer the most embarrassing questions. Try it before it is too late.
