  1. The Collector's Forum - Mosin Nagant HQ
A couple years ago, I decided to research the barrel stamp of a Mosin Nagant I had laying around for as long as I could remember. Upon, researching the barrel stamp, I have come to find this Rifle is a Finnish SAT Riihimäki M91 Write up I found: >> The first attempt to correct the substandard...

I picked up an M91 advertised as an Ulaani Carbine off of gunbroker a few weeks ago. The carbine is on the right and the one of the left is a standard M91. I believe this is the same rifle that is shown in this image gallery that highlights some features of the Ulaani. Finnish Rifles According...

Good afternoon! I wanted to share the most recent addition to my collection of rifles. I snagged this NEW m91 for a decent price, and was pleasantly surprised to find some matching serial numbers on the rifle. I do know that it is an m91 "shoved" into an m27 stock. I am hoping to be able to...

Hello everyone! I have been reading on these pages for years…really absolutely appreciating this Forum...and now i am ready for my first post! Since we are almost at the end of the year…and it is time to see what we were able to collect in 2023…it is finally time for me to show you my project...

Here's my small collection of Mosins to add to the Forum. From the Top: 1)Tula Model 44, made in 1944. It was re-arsenaled, but it does have the original sling (and cleaning rod!) Neat to see that Tula only made them in '44. 2)Chinese Type 53, made in 1960 with no import mark. Not in a horrible...

So I'm trying to figure out markings on non-Russian Mosin bayonets, any model - not ones I already have, ones I don't yet have and need to look for. I specifically am interested in ownership markings of other countries, not manufacturer markings. Though let's leave out the Finnish knife...

Hello I’m really considering buying this rifle but I was wondering if anyone would be able to discern if this is potentially a real m/39 SOV sniper rifle with original base silver soldered on but with a reproduction mount and repro pe scope? Or just an outright clone altogether? It’s a vkt D...

Recently purchased this 1924 dragoon and discovered that it has a 1905 receiver. Is this common or unusual? The bolt and magazine match and theres no serial on the buttplate. It's not SA marked and I can't find an import mark anywhere on it. Learning is half the fun so I'd appreciate any and all...

While waiting for my paperwork to go through on my 1921 Mosin this weekend, this Chinese Type 53 caught my eye. It’s numbers-matching and the stock is really nice. The only significant imperfection is the large chip out of the upper handguard (can be seen in third image). The pawn shop wanted...

I recently came across this Mosin at a local pawn shop. It’s a 1921 Tula with hex receiver, and it’s numbers-matching. Overall, the stock was in pretty good condition. The only possible issue with it was that the upper hand guard was a bit loose or “flexy.” I couldn’t examine the bore well...

Hey everyone, Just wanted to share some photos and video of my PU Sniper - Hope y'all enjoy :)

Finally found a M91/59 carbine. It appears that the Bulgarians modified 1 to 3 million 91/30s into this configuration so finding one shouldn't be that hard...but it was. All matching numbers with the cleaning rod for 400 at a gunshow. I think I did well.

I was just cleaning the safe and found the peculiar wood stock on my M44. From what little I have heard the Hungarians used mostly beech and sometimes elm to make stocks for their mosins. However, mine doesn't look either, and has a more walnut-like grain to it. Anyways here are the pics...
