The
Military Rifle Journal
Welcome to the home page of The Military
Rifle Journal, a quarterly newsletter dedicated to the identification, usage
and history of the world’s military rifles. Further information about The
Military Rifle Journal is given below. This site is not just the electronic
version of The Military Rifle Journal; it is rather a reference for on going
research projects and a repository for those articles from The Military Rifle
Journal that contain useful information such as book reviews and book
updates/corrections. It also includes additional pictures not shown in The
Military Rifle Journal because of space limitations.
The
Military Rifle Journal
First published in January 1991, each issue
is 29 pages long and consists of news/information, articles, and ads sections.
Initially it was a monthly publication but as of January 2006 it is now a
quarterly.
The information section includes letters,
questions and answers, reports on new rifle imports, book reviews, and anything
of interest to the military rifle collector and shooter.
The article section covers such topics as the
history of various military rifles, new rifle acquisitions, shooting,
restoring, reloading, museums featuring military rifles, etc. All of the articles
are written by subscribers and much of the information is not available
elsewhere.
The ads section includes for sale, for trade,
and wanted sections as well as information on upcoming meetings of interest to
the members.
Information
Listed throughout the web site are
e-mail addresses of people who are willing to answer questions on certain
areas. These are listed under the individual countries and/or in the Links to
Other Sites section as well as on the cover pages shown below. For your convenience
some of these are listed in the table below. If you have questions about a
particular rifle that you can identify, it would be appreciated if you would
send your questions directly to the person who is willing to answer questions
on that particular rifle. If you can not identify the rifle you have, send your
questions to Stan Zielinski at szielinski@nhctc.edu and he will answer your questions or forward your e-mail to someone
who can.

Yearly Article
Index
This web site is gradually growing, and each
month additional articles, research requests, etc., are added. But, as you can
see, it still needs improvement. Al Castle suggested the current format of
organizing the site along the "table of contents" approach. The plan
is still to continually add to this site so that eventually it will be a comprehensive
source of information on military rifles, both new and old. This will continue
to include links to other web sites, but it will not try to duplicate these
sites. Our goal is to maintain a site that contains a maximum of useful
information based on factual data, and a minimum of opinion.
Any comments, suggestions, etc., should be
e-mailed to szielinski@nhctc.edu .
