Default Pistola Parabelum (Brazilian)

Picked this up at the last Allentown (Forks of the Delaware) show in trade.

its got that aresenal dark bluing, almost a parkerizing), but not one of the shiney american reblues. Except for some light pitting around the barrel, overall it is in nice shape I thought!

And if I understand correctly, there was only a contract of 5,000 , so this is almost in the middle with a 2773 serial number.

What in the world does a Brazilian Holster look like (seriously?)

Ed,

Maybe this one is a Brazilian leather example...

I keep hearing they are "very similar" to Portugese AE holsters...

At one time I had serial #95, complete rig, mag pouch, tools and all. Holster looks exactly like Portugese.

Mike,
Close, but not exact. It doesn't have the little loop for the pin punch. Check out page 408 in Kenyon's "Lugers at Random".

Default Brazilian

You're right, mine had the pin punch. {Wish I had that rig back!}

Ed,

Congratulations for find this Pistola Parabelum (Brazilian Contract Luger).
They are almost impossible to find with original finish even down here.
A friend of mine has a holster for a Brazilian Luger. Here is the sole picture I have of it. I can ask for more, if you want to.

Greetings,

Douglas.

Douglas,

If you and your friend do not mind, I would certainly like to see more photos of this beautiful holster...back view, side view and view inside holster with its flap open.

Thank you in advance.

Pete,

I already requested that. I think I'll have new images by Sunday.
I will post them here as soon as possible. I'm also curious to see these pictures.

Okay, as I had promissed here are the pictures of a Brazilian Luger holster.
I changed some messages with the owner and he told that the guns has no maker's mark or proof marks (the circled B). No pouchs for tool or cleaning rod, just the additional magazine. Also, there is no pulling strap for fast draw.

At the back of the holster a name of a officer who carried was erased with a kind of paint. Inside the flap, some unit marks painted, but not enough to allows to a narrow id (just 1ª Cia. that stands for "1st Company" and a number "5").

The current owner doesn't have the gun - he doesn't collect guns but only Brazilian field equipment and militaria - so that's all the he has.

Any comments are highly appreciated.

Douglas.
